The award winning floral design team here at Penny's By Plaza Flowers keep these walk-in coolers full of gorgeous, farm fresh birthday themed floral bouquets.
Many of the fresh flowers we sell are purchased directly from flower farms. We buy from both domestic and international growers. Where possible, we locally source flowers. Buying direct from growers offers many great advantages. We are able to reduce our cost to acquire fresh flowers. Much of that cost savings is passed directly along to our valued customers. The time between when the flowers are cut at the farm and when they arrive here at our flower shops is reduced. Reducing that time is really important. It means that our designers are working with fresher floral products. Fresher flowers translates directly into longer vase life for the recipients of the arrangements we create.
POPULAR BIRTHDAY GIFT IDEAS
Gerbera Daisies: Gerbera daisies are a bright, bold type of flower that is commonly used in floral designs. The name "gerbera" comes from the German word "Gerber," which refers to a person who cares for infants. The flower was named after Gerber, a botanist who worked on geraniums and other plants in the 19th century. These vibrant flowers come in many colors—including pink, red, orange, yellow and white—and can be used as part of a bouquet or as a stand-alone flower arrangement. They are also often used in floral displays at restaurants or other businesses because they're so eye-catching.
Full Bloom Hydrangea: Hydrangeas are a type of flower that has been used for centuries in floral design. They grow naturally in the wild and have been cultivated for use in home landscaping as well. There are several different types of hydrangea that can be used for different purposes, but full bloom hydrangea are from the Hydrangea macrophylla species. They have large leaves that grow on long stems. The flowers themselves are small and white with a few streaks of pink or blue running through them. They can range from one inch to three inches across depending on where they're grown and how old they are when they bloom.
Peonies: Peonies are one of the most popular flowers in floral design because of their ability to add a splash of color to any arrangement. They come in a wide range of colors, from white and pink to burgundy and red. The flower itself is shaped like a bell, with a large center and several petals that give it a round appearance. Poenies can be used in many different types of arrangements because they are so versatile. They can be paired with other flowers or displayed alone as part of an arrangement. They can also be used as accents for more traditional bouquets and centerpieces, or they can be incorporated into more modern designs as well.
Ranunuculus: Ranunculus are one of the most popular flowers in the world, and for good reason: they're beautiful, unique, and versatile. Ranunculus come in a variety of colors, including white, yellow, red, orange, and purple. They're also available in different sizes—from small to medium to large.
The flowers have petals that range from tightly packed together to more widely spaced apart. Their shapes vary from round to heart-shaped or pointed at the tip. The stems are either tall or short depending on the variety you choose—ranging from approximately 2" to 4". Ranunculus grow best in full sun or partial shade conditions but can tolerate partial shade as well as full sun exposure if they're given enough water throughout the day (and year).
